Lalla holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering, an MBA and an AMP. He is a Certified Director and member of the Institute of Directors (SA), the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. He is also certified by the US Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional.
Ashley’s diverse career experience and strategic thinking will play a pivotal role in our continued success, propelling us to new heights as we revolutionise healthcare together. He began his career in 1994 at Eskom. During a nine-year association with the organisation, he held various positions in maintenance, projects, engineering design, management, and business consulting, across different operations and divisions.In February 2003, Lalla joined Anglo American Platinum as a Commodity Strategist in the Supply Chain, a role in which he formulated the Company’s first Energy Technology Strategy. In November 2004, he was appointed as a Senior Project Manager in the Engineering and Projects Division, where he was responsible for the development, execution and close-out of various large mining and engineering capital projects.
Before joining Aurum, he served at Anglo Platinum, as General Manager: Projects (Zimbabwe and Joint Ventures), where he successfully led the implementation and delivery of Unki Mine, Anglo Platinum’s maiden cross-border operation located in Zimbabwe, bringing this operation to first production in December 2010, whilst also overseeing a Joint Venture Project portfolio that exceeded USD 5 billion in cumulative value. In 2013, Lalla founded the Weza Afrika Capital, a gateway consulting and investment firm focused on improving the lives of ordinary Africans through the spreading of sustainable infrastructure and life-changing services.
