Mr Bandile Mathandela has experience in strategy and investment advisory, auditing, and entrepreneurship. As CEO at Aurum Innova, he is responsible for providing oversight and operational leadership (i.e. organisational structure, operations and business development).
A seasoned leader, Bandile has acquired experience in public health having led teams implementing several large-scale projects working with the Department of Health and several funders, i.e. CDC, Solidarity Fund. He has held the positions of Project Manager and COO at Innova, where he led teams providing benefit medical services to ex-mineworkers across SADC on behalf of the MBOD/CCOD, as well as a team provided clinical support to quarantine sites as part of the repatriation programme in partnership with the National Department of Health. In addition, Bandile has provided oversight in the implementation of several operational and financial systems at Innova, taking responsibility of the control environment in the organisation.
Prior to joining Aurum Innova, Bandile served as an analyst at Agis Holdings supporting the directors with strategy formulation and investment advisory. He was also part of the finance team at Eskom supporting the New Build programme under the Group Capital Division. As an entrepreneur, Bandile founded BMS Capital, Mathandela Construction and Eagles Co-op, employing people in the consulting, construction & agriculture sector. Additionally, Bandile currently serves on the board of Ubuntu Football as a non-executive director assisting the management team with governance and business development.
Bandile holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Wits Business School) and a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Witwatersrand). He recently completed the Executive Development Programme at Wits Business School.
